There's a resolution being introduced in many states that would reverse Citizens United and restore free and fair elections in America.

Our state should be a leader on this.  This is not a left or right issue - it's an American issue.

On 7/11/13, I called IL State Rep. Don Harmon to find out his position on free/fair elections and Citizens United. I was informed that he co-sponsored SJR0027, URGE CONG-CONTRIBUTION AMENDMT, which was adopted in both houses on 5/31/13.

“Urges Congress to adopt a constitutional amendment reversing the Citizens United v. FEC ruling and related cases by clarifying that corporations and other artificial entities are not people with constitutional rights, and that money is property, not speech, and therefore can be regulated.”

The Senate Committee Amendment No. 1:
“Changes the body cited as having a compelling interest in fair elections from the Illinois Senate to the Illinois General Assembly.”
