Status of Wolf-PAC Script (PHP) Idea

From the conference call today, I do have the technical expertise to build a PHP script that will use a database to organize and show what government officials we have contacted about Wolf-PAC and what they had to say about it, including something like a green or red light to indicate their response to Wolf-PAC. I can build it at anytime and have it done in at least 5 days.

Does anybody like this idea and thinks it would be worth investing time into?

I wish I could hook you up with someone Carol but at this point California has been one of our most disappointing states. We have hundreds of volunteers there but still not a single comment from a state legislator. We will be doing another call for people to take action in the coming weeks, maybe even for more leadership roles so hopefully we will get someone then. I’ve talked with many people who have wanted to step up and take on a leadership role in California but they have always dropped off the map. I’m not really sure why, maybe California state reps are just hard to get a hold of?? That’s why I can’t stress enough, it really only takes one good person in each state making the calls, because there aren’t that many legislators. Once people see a foundation of comments like New York or Michigan, then it becomes easier.

Awesome! I think we all agree that we need a tool like this. Hopefully soon we will have some webspace for this small project. This will organize Wolf PAC’s efforts to spread the word.

We’re just working on other small things in the backend, but again; We will hopefully have it up and running in the near future for the new year!

Yes Michael I understand your poinbt. I guess I just have felt a bit like I wish I had some idea what others had or are doing in CA. I may have asked already but is there a way to search wolf-pac members to find those located in CA or even those in my area?

I do agree though that what Brandon wants to design would be fantastic for the site.

Carol, I fully believe that if they hear from more than one person in Wolf PAC it is an advantage for us and actually makes us look organised, not disorganized. If they hear from one person they are apt to just forget it because they are constantly being contacted for all sorts of reasons. I think if we are going to have success they need to be basically bombarded with people telling them they want this issue dealt with. The more people that contact them from the same organization the more powerful they will think that organization is, just my opinion though!

Brandon I LOVE this idea! One of the concerns I have is coordination between pac members in each state. It seems to me that if I contact reps as Wolf Pac but others have already been working with them I would think it makes the pac seem unorganized.

Well I can definitely program it! So the question is where on the site do we want to host it?

I like the idea of it Brandon, but have no idea how that would be implemented into the site, I’m not a tech guy! Maybe others have some thoughts on it.
