The vast majority of Americans are totally fed up with the influence that money has over our political process, and it's way past time to do something about it.  State legislators are now the only ones capable of fixing this problem.

The only way to limit the massive influence that outside money has over our political process is to pass a constitutional amendment.  There are only two ways to do that.

1. Through Congress.   2. Through our state legislators via an Article V. Convention.

-  Congress has proven to be incapable of passing something as mundane as the Disclose Act, thus making it is inconceivable that they will adequately address this issue.  That leaves only one other option.

-  People trust their State legislators more than their federal ones. Why wouldn't we fix this problem at the state level through a convention?  It is our best shot at getting the amendment we need.

-  A 3/4 vote is still needed at a convention for an amendment to become part of the Constitution. If 3/4 of the states agree on something in a functioning democracy shouldn't it be part of the Constitution?  We cant' be afraid of democracy.

Do you care about our national Debt?

How can we ever possibly solve our national debt problem when we are giving billions of dollars a year to the richest (oil) companies on the planet?  Answer: we can't.

Do you care about Education?

How can we improve our fledgling education system if we are allowing our most profitable companies; i.e. Bank of America, Citicorp, etc. to pay no taxes at all because of tax havens in foreign countries?  Answer:  We can't.

"Through their state legislatures and without regard to the federal government, the people can demand conventions to propose amendments that can and will reverse any trends they see as fatal to true representative government."

                                                                                                                                         -  President Dwight D. Eisenhower

We can't let our county continue to go down this path of corruption and bribery.  This is not a right or left issue, it is an American Issue. It's time to take action.  Right now, today. Not tomorrow.  Don't stand in the way of history.

If a politician wants to run for an office most of the money they spend should be their own.

Also thanks for tweeting that at my dad’s cousin Ken. I’m sure that he’ll be thrilled. Did I mention that we’re both from a family of sheep farmers? I also think he worked in a SoCal agriculture department at one point, so he can probably tell you a lot about sheep.

I didn’t call myself a sheep. I simply stated that it is better to be a sheep than an ass. I personally would identify more with wolves, or maybe wolves in sheep’s clothing. My convictions are that no pointless internet debate with trolls is complete without some form of witty repartee.

@monetta: Gathering money to get into the political arena to get the money out of politics sounds like a great solution when you are trying to prop up the broken system, so kudos to you. If instead you would remove your support from the system it will simply whither. I know, simple plan, no grand manifestos, but that’s the big joke. It is that simple. One person at a time. But then again there are no grand hero parades to be included in as one of those that “fixed the broken system”. So when this system is repaired to whom are the reins handed?
@pellman: You just called yourself a sheep, lol. What does that say about your convictions?

Hey ‘Slave Master’ love the gross generalization of your solution with no actual plan or even hint of one, but the path we’ve chosen is the most logical to actually fix this broken system and we’re going to continue down it, thanks for stopping by though.

Hey sheep! How about you get the politics out of money and band together to DISSOLVE the state at all levels? The inherent moral hazard of political office is completely lost on you. You think that by getting to choose the slave master that you will be spared when they get into office? Ha! Every politician you throw your weight behind, every bill you LOBBY to get passed or defunded, every pet project that you tirelessly strive to get put into place will do nothing to change the system. Wake up and smell the napalm!

WolfPAC is in it’s infancy but yet McCutcheon vs FEC is already heading to SCOTUS. CU vs FEC is nothing if it passes.

As a citizen of the state of Kansas, I just posted to the Kansas Democratic Facebook encouraging people to educate themselves on Wolf Pack. The Dem’s have a vested interest because the Koch Brothers have bought and paid for their state.

The republicans don’t operate as members of a Democracy; they have a Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter,Santorum, Gingrich, Oreilly, NRA, Priebus ,Kudlow etc and they expect loyalism to these people as leaders; top down. There’s no representation from this. It operates as a cult. First these leaders designate gays the official group to bigot against and then they cheat their own marriages as exceptions to the rule ; whether the mistress is male of female is of no concern. Larry Craig, Gingrich, Sanford , Desjarlais, …republicanism is a cult protraying itself as financially astute christianity

I admire what you’re doing here. This and other programs have inspired me to make a long shot run at presidency in 2029 based on the American dream and common sense, not on the cash flow of faceless donors. Keep fighting the good fight guys!

It doesn’t matter if 80% of the public wants action on any particular subject, if the money is on the opposite side of the issue, the money will win every time.
